August 2, 2014 Iowa County Citizen Climate Lobby 11AM
(Mineral Point) The Iowa County CCL (Citizens Climate Lobby) Monthly Chapter meeting is on the first Saturday of the month at 11AM at the Gray Dog Deli (215 High St Mineral Point, WI). Come join us, new members always welcomed!
If you haven't yet attended one of our meetings, this would be a great time to give us a try. The guest speaker will elaborate on the amazing report from R.E.M.I. which demonstrates the economic benefits that would be realized through carbon fee and dividend legislation.
If you're a regular attendee, you'll remember Scott Nystrom from a few months ago. The planned speaker, Gen. Wesley Clark's, schedule changed unexpectedly, so this will be an opportunity for us to gain a deeper understanding of the R.E.M.I. report through Scott.
Updates on local initiatives will also be covered.
Finally, you may also be interested in attending the annual LANTERNS FOR PEACE event Sunday, Aug. 3rd, 6:30 pm at Twin Valley Lake in Gov. Dodge Park. This year's theme will meld the environmental and peace movements. It's always an inspiring evening. Consider joining in! Look for notices and posters, or contact me for further details.
See you Saturday and/or Sunday!
CCL's purpose is to support the passage of legislation to gradually raise a fee on carbon based fuels and then return the collected revenue to all tax payers. CCL's influence is growing rapidly; their goal would be positive a game changer. Learn more at citizensclimatelobby.org
It would be great to have you join in! Please RSVP to Chuck & Karen Tennessen at [email protected] or (608) 987-3835. See you then!
