�Discuss potluck outcomes: Did any learner/tutor pairs meet?

� Review homework from November 29 meeting: Share lesson plans for a first meeting

� Pronunciation: Explain the difference between accent and pronunciation problem. Explain what causes pronunciation problems for many learners�the absence of some sounds in different languages. Introduce minimal pairs as a way to teach pronunciation.

� Listening: Giving/following directions activity�use graph paper and diagram to get students to practice listening skills. Discuss the barriers to listening and how to remove them. Total Physical Response (TPR): one way to teach listening�demonstrate �Simon Sez.� Explain other TPR activities. Materials and Methods: Graph Paper and diagrams, participation

� Writing: Try to do at least a little writing in every lesson, even if only one word at a time. Free writing�write for communication. Dialog journal

� Language Experience Activity (LEA): Explain process, going through LEA session. Explain how �word bank� cards can help build vocabulary. Describe �experience stories� Handout and practice.
