July 1, 2015 Crane Folding Session 1-3pm
A world free of nuclear weapons is an aim of the Iowa County Citizens for Peace group. To demonstrate your support for this idea and to meet new friends, learn how to fold an origami crane at the Dodgeville Public Library from 1 to 3 p.m. on June 5. Find other crane-folding events listed below or host your own event at your home or favorite coffee house. The Peace Group plans to send 1,000 cranes – or more -- to Los Alamos, New Mexico (where the atomic bomb was developed) at the end of July, as part of a national challenge to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Hiroshima/Nagasaki bombings with 70,000 origami cranes.

* Dodgeville – Public Library, Fridays, June 5 & 19, July 17, 1-3 p.m.
* Spring Green – General Store, Wednesday, June 10, 1–3 p.m.
* Cobb – Public Library, Thursday, June 25, 1-3 p.m.
* Highland - Sts. Anthony & Philip Parish, Sunday, June 28, 10-noon
* Montfort - St. Thomas Parish, Sunday, June 28, 11:30 am-12:30 pm
* Dodgeville - home of UCC Pastor Joylynn Graham, Wednesday,July 1, potluck lunch, noon at 607 W. Chapel Street,Dodgeville.
* Mineral Point – Public Library, Wednesday, July 8 & 15, 1-3 p.m.
* Barneveld - Public Library, Wednesday, July 8 1-3pm
