June 28, 2012 Facebook 101 - Limited Seating Available - Registration Required

Grassroots Citizens of Wisconsin is sponsoring a Facebook/Social Media class to be held in Dodgeville in cooperation with the Business & Industry Services division of SW Tech. Katie Hill, the Madison-based instructor, has 18 years of digital marketing experience. She has helped a number of international companies as well as non-profit organizations craft persuasive marketing digital messages.

Title: FACEBOOK 101: Essentials for Using Facebook to Connect and Influence

NEW LOCATION: Dodgeville High School (in the Computer Lab), 912 West Chapel Street, Dodgeville. Directions: From Iowa Street (Hwy. 23), turn west at Chapel (street on north side of Iowa County Courthouse). Enter at Main Entrance and watch for signs to workshop.
Date: Thurs., June 28 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In this 3.5-hour workshop, you will have the opportunity to learn everything you need to know about using Facebook effectively to engage, influence and inspire your community. This hands-on workshop is full of real-world examples, activities, and ample time to ask any questions that you have about Facebook. As a group we'll talk about how Facebook can be used in many different ways to support your organization, and explore some of the most common mistakes people make when using Facebook. Join us for a fun, engaging, and informational session. You will learn:
Overview of Facebook and the power it has in social media
• What Facebook is and why you need to use it for your organization
• What makes a good Facebook page
• The top 10 dos and do not dos on Facebook
The Nuts and Bolts of Facebook
• How to create accounts
• How to protect your privacy on Facebook
• Understanding the different pages “types” on Facebook and when to use them
Using Facebook Effectively
• How to structure a campaign on Facebook
• How to use Facebook ads
• How to schedule an event and promote it on Facebook
• How to drive traffic using Facebook
• How to engage, influence and inspire your audience
