March 16, 2016 Welcoming Our Muslim Neighbors 7PM
(Dodgeville) WELCOMING OUR MUSLIM NEIGHBORS. ALL COMMUNITY MEMBERS are encouraged to take part in this RELEVANT conversation series about friendship and tolerance across faiths – capped off with a visit to a Muslim mosque in Madison on March 16. If you have questions about Islam, and the people who practice it, do not miss this chance to learn from area Muslim speakers. Make the next few Wednesday nights rewarding and join the conversation. Local churches and the Dodgeville Library are collaborating on this series (see specific locations below.)
Guest speakers: Ibrahim Saeed, Pres. Islamic Center Madison, Lufti Shahrani, member of Interfaith Dialogue, Madison and other guests.
Topics include:
•Discussing the Fear of ISIS and the Misinformation about Muslims (Feb. 17) at 7 p.m. at Plymouth United Church of Christ, 115 W. Merrimac, Dodgeville (enter on Main Street);
•Exploring the Common Ground between Christianity and Islam (Feb. 24) at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 327 N. Iowa Street, Dodgeville
•Experiencing the Arts and Culture of the Islamic World (March 2) at 7 p.m. the Dodgeville Public Library
•Learning about Muslim family life (March 9) at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 405 South Dacotah Street, Dodgeville
•Visiting a Madison Muslim mosque (March 16). MEET AT 6 P.M. at the Plymouth United Church of Christ, 115 W. Merrimac, Dodgeville to carpool to Madison where we are expected at 7 p.m.
