March 24, 2011 Using our Values as "Motar" for our Schools 7PM

SPRING GREEN, USING OUR VALUES AS THE MORTAR FOR OUR LOCAL SCHOOLS: one of the final community discussions in the Stones into Schools series.
This community dialogue, to be held at the River Valley Middle School library, 660 West Daley St., will look at Greg Mortensons Stones into Schools book from an entirely different angle. The conversation will turn to our own schools, asking the question how can we use our highest values as the mortar for creating strong schools and strong communities here just as Greg Mortenson used the stones from the mountains of Afghanistan to building strong schools there. The questions to be asked: Do our values keep us stuck in fear and anger? Can we live with todays chaos that then translates to our children? Do we need to reach for more positive core values. For more info, contact Cecilia Farran, 588-3313. (NOTE: THIS EVENT WAS ORIGINALLY PLANNED FOR THE 43/90 NORTH EARTH BOOKSTORE but has been moved to the Middle School.)
