December 13, 2011 New Medicare Benefits Explained 1PM

Are you receiving all the Medicare benefits you deserve? If you are a local senior, you may be passing up some of the invaluable medical services that have recently become available to you. These free benefits are designed to keep you healthier and more productive in the years to come.

To learn more, seniors and those who care about them are encouraged to attend a free talk called “New Medicare Benefits and You” on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Stonefield Village Apartments, 407 E. Madison in Dodgeville. Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Aaron Dunn of Mineral Point; Nancy Howard, the benefits specialist for the Iowa County Aging and Disabilities Resource Center; Billy Feitlinger, executive director of the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans and Doug Hill, director of Know Your Care Wisconsin will be in Dodgeville to explain the new benefits available to you as a result of the Affordable Care Act, the health reform legislation that was passed in 2010.

“Preventative care isn’t just for the young guns,” says Feitlinger of the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans. “Free preventative care means staying healthy and crossing the century mark with a smile. It’s great to see the Affordable Care Act providing such important services to so many seniors across the country.”

For more information about the event or to receive a follow up report if you are unable to attend, contact Earl Barnes, [email protected] or call 608-623-2109. No reservations necessary.
