March 13 Informational Program on Local Control in Mt. Horeb

On Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 7pm, there will be an informational program on this important issue - local control, and the state’s legislative initiative to curtail the authority of local communities. The event is being held at the Mt. Horeb Community Center at 107 North Grove Street in Mt. Horeb.

The program will feature Matt Dannenberg, regional Wisconsin organizer for Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters. Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters is a leading nonpartisan environmental and political organization. The organization advocates on issues of conservation relating to air, land, and water. The organization also issues the Conservation Scorecard, and aids in electing pro-conservation candidates to office. Also speaking this evening will be Senior Planner at Dane County Planning & Development, Brian Standing. He will address the importance of local autonomy, and pressures in Dane County in regards to sand mining and quarry issues.

This informational program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available at the event. The Southwest Wisconsin Area Progressives (SWWAP) sponsors this program. For further information on this event contact swwap@tds.net.
