June 7, 2010 Community Discussions on Wisconsin's Energy Futures 6PM to 9PM

Wisconsin Bioenergy Initiative and Agricultural Ecosystems Research Group invites you to COMMUNITY DISCUSSIONS ON WISCONSINS ENERGY FUTURES

Join us for a dialogue around our shared energy future that engages the resourcefulness and imagination of citizens. The Community Discussions are designed to help us better understand public knowledge, questions, concerns and needs for information around energy and to elicit community ideas and suggestions for designing our shared energy future.

Event Details:
Monday, June 7th 2010: 6:00-9:00 p.m.
Mineral Point High School, Commons Area
705 Ross Street
Mineral Point, Wisconsin

The discussions feature speakers from Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corporation, Energy Center of Wisconsin, Premier Cooperative, Agricultural Ecosystems Research Group, and Wisconsin Bioenergy Initiative. In collaboration with Rep. Hilgenberg, Rep. Garthwaite and Sen. Schultz.

The event is free and open to the public, and beverages and light refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP to Falicia Roper at [email protected] by Friday, May 28th.

This forward-looking session will explore the many challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for farmers, business owners, land owners, concerned citizens and other SW Wisconsin stakeholders who want to know more about the potential impact of renewable energy systems, particularly bio energy, on our local and regional communities, economies, land and natural resources.

This Mineral Point session is the first in a series of state-wide discussions designed to improve energy dialogue throughout the state. Everyone is invited to the table to ensure better bridging between farmers, land owners, business owners, policy makers and researchers so that all are working together in the development of future energy systems.

Partners in the project are Gary Radloff of the Wisconsin Bioenergy Initiative in Madison, Carol Williams of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and 51st District State Assemblyman Steve Hilgenberg. For more information, contact Gary Radloff at [email protected]; Carol Williams at [email protected] or Rep. Steve. Hilgenberg at [email protected].
